Bernard received his BDS qualification from University College Cork in 1990. A native of Cork, Bernard worked in general practice in Kent, England after he graduated until 1992. He then returned to Ireland and opened his own dental practice at the Royal Oak Road in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow. The practice relocated to its present premises on Kilree Street in 1996.
He is continually expanding and upgrading the facilities in the practice to improve the range of services available to patients. Bernard has been actively involved in the Irish Dental Association since 1992 which is the representative organisation of the profession in Ireland and he is also a member of the Dental Council of Ireland.
Bernard is married and he has three children and spends his spare time near the sea and cycling.
